Melanie Dickinson, Founder & Fractional Controller

Freedom Business Solutions was founded to help trade contractors gain clarity and control over their financial and people operations. I grew up in a family-owned construction business, so I understand the practical realities of running a trade business, on the job site and behind the scenes.

I hold an MBA with an emphasis in Finance and bring controller-level experience in construction, including payroll, HR administration, job costing, and operational oversight. It's my goal to work closely with owners and teams to improve cash flow, internal controls, and systems that support growth. I also offer Spanish fluency to better support bilingual teams and field operations.

In addition to my professional work, I’m a business owner and real estate investor with a portfolio of short- and long-term rentals and experience completing a home flip. That real-world experience allows me to partner with clients in practical, decision-focused ways—not just from behind a spreadsheet.

When I'm not working, you can find me enjoying time with my family, spending as much time outside in the sun as possible and homesteading on our little farm.
